As agreed at our last Flocking at Lakes Entrance the next spring flocking will be located at Mulwala which is a lake near Yarrawonga on the Murray River. It is a great location and will be a terrific ride for all parties as you will be going through some of the best riding country in Australia. Originally the location was to be the Mulwala Ski Club but this park is fully booked on the weekend we opted to go for.
I have been able to get us accommodation at Club Mulwala, which is an RSL with 3 bars, great food and I have tentatively booked 35 rooms which should accommodate all the Flockers. The rooms are of various configuration and price points but I negotiated a flat rate of $150 per night for all rooms regardless of type. Attached is the detail of the offer and it will be a case of first in best dressed to get the room of your choice. If you do not wish to stay at this location then there is the Capricorn Motel about 1.5 kms away so still in easy access to our weekend headquarters.
I would suggest all those interested have a look at the website for Club Mulwala which is shown on their letterhead. The web site also has full details of the club and also descriptions of the room types available. The club is upmarket and rooms are of a very good standard. www.clubmulwala.com.au
As per our usual format, Friday night will be a social drink or ten at the available bars and dinner wherever you choose. For the Saturday night I have tentatively organised a room for all of us with a 2 course meal at a cost of $45 per head. Bar service will be available and again the details are on the attached letter from the club.
A great ride will be planned for the Saturday and Jimbo is planning the route. The location will be a surprise but is of great historical significance and will be interesting for everyone and something which will give you a great insight into our early colonial history.
Please post comments and if the majority are happy then I will pay a deposit and lock in the weekend.

They do have apartment type accommodation which you will get if you book early. Its a great place and you and our two homuncular friends will be well accommodated

Yes I thought of that Steve, but Rabs said that room is $200, I am trying to keep the costs down for the two pensioners that I ride with, I will be calling them today so will find out. I also notice on their booking module that they charge extra $80 or so for additional adults.

Also she said that normally the spokesperson (Steve) has to submit a room list to Megan for the bookings, ie we don't book ourselves???
When I mentioned the apartment for $200 she immediately flicked the problem to Megan.
Anyway Megan is back at work tomorrow so have to wait until then.

we used to go to this Club yrs ago, good Club but we started going elsewhere when they stopped honouring the Vic. RSL card..The Capricorn motel is excellent but is not 1.2 ks away but right next to the Rsl, 1 minute walk....Last time we stayed at Club Mulwala we were debited with the cost of an orange juice from the mini bar a week later without our permission....Phone call soon put a stop to that, we never use the mini bars, fuckin rip off...So we will never go back to that place...Will come up for the photo shoot though

ring them up personally... Those booking agencies are allocated a certain amount of tickets and the rest for motel use for walk in use and people who prefer personal contact

There is a Triathalon planned for that weekend which is why we couldn't get into the Water Ski Club Holiday Park. I was told that they expected up to 700 people in Mulwala that weekend which could be why places like Capricorn Motel are showing as 'booked out'. As Greg mentioned people could try ringing Capricorn direct to verify.
We considered changing the date, but to go later conflicted with the MotoGP and go go earlier meant that anyone who wanted to combine this trip with a visit to MotoGP would have an additional week before the GP.
So far Steve and I have found the Club Mulwala folk very helpful and keen to help us out.

It is a case of first in best dressed as far as the type of room goes as I figured it would be easier to have all people paying the same rate rather than have people complaining that the room they got cost them $200 and others only cost $120 and generally they will be the people who book in late anyhow. As Jim mentioned this was the weekend agreed to because of the timing around the Moto GP.
As I said on the FB page, we have a year to save and it will only be about $100 more expensive than Lakes Entrance. Remember, Mudgee was around $140 per room and no one complained so you get what you pay for and this is a good style of place.
We will all have a great time. Do you think we should dress for dinner??

Your right Greg, Capricorn still have rooms available standard $120, executive $142 and spa room $159 but that's the room only breakfast is extra.

As you are aware I put a hold on 35 rooms at Club Mulwala Resort. The good news is that all bar 1 room and a 2 bedroom apartment are left. These will be held for us until Friday 10 August then relinquished.
Also, I need to know the final numbers for catering. We get a 2 course meal consisting of main and dessert served in our own function room with bar service. Cost is $45 per head and I have to give numbers by 21 August so please let me know who will be attending. If we don't get around 35 people then we will be dining in the bistro area with access to common bar areas but I believe it is better to have our own room so we can discuss next Flockings and any other matters.
I am also putting it forward that we adopt BACA which is Bikers Against Child Abuse as our charity and Terri will give us and update on this worthy cause as she is very active in supporting it.
Chevrons are being ordered and I will need to know if any people will require the main patch as we have none and need to get them made to order.
This is being posted on Facebook as well so please advise about dining and also chevron as soon as possible.

Black Beauty (AKA The Beast) performed beautifully as usual. Great catching up with flockers, but sad that there were so many missing for reasons we all know. Time to throw the swimmers on and go down to my local beach for a cool dip.  Love you guys. Roll on Parkes!!!
